About Me

My name is Leah Burton and I am the owner and founder of Burton Academic Coaching and Life Skills. With over a decade of working with adolescents, I noticed the trend of students having the intellectual ability to do well in school, but lacking the basic skills, motivation, and self-efficacy for their success. In fact, much of my extra time spent with struggling students was not on the subject matter itself, but in organization and study skills. A need was clear, thus, I started Burton Academic Coaching and Life Skills.

Educational Background and Professional Experience

My educational background consists of a Master's Degree in Teaching and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. For 13 years, I worked with thousands of students, spending the latter 9 teaching AP Psychology. Working with students of all abilities and neurodiversity's, I know where their is a will, their is a way. And if their is no will for success, let's figure out why and unlearn helplessness. My goal with each student is figuring out needs and coaching them down a unique  pathway towards their personal goals.
